Helen has a corporate background in contract and project management and is an Associate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She is also currently serving her second term as a Non-executive Director on the Board of South Coast Natural Resource Management.

Helen is an Affiliate of the RSL Albany Sub-Branch, her interest being as a result of growing up in a post WWII household with a father who served as a Sergeant with the British Armed Forces as well as her husband Charlie, who served as a National Serviceman in Vietnam.

Her vision for RSL Albany is to encourage more members to participate in Commemorative Services, to make use of the Welfare services provided, to consider options for health and wellbeing and to encourage engagement in social activities which RSL Albany arrange.
